Unusual Bones works across disciplines, including film, theatre, and live art, to create socially resonant and boundary-pushing work. Their projects include the short film ekstasis (2021), an evocative exploration of intimacy and identity that won a Silver Screen at the Cannes YDAs for Best Direction, making them one of only two recipients of an award at the YDA’s from Africa. Their second film, ‘n Doop om Stilte, won Best Director and Best Short Film of the Silwerskerm Festival (2023), and was invited to Talents Durban in collaboration with Berlinale Talents. They are currently in development of their first feature film.
